To protect the security of your patients' data, Apex now requires you to update your password every 90 days. If your password has expired, you will be prompted to reset it in the Apex website. You will also see an error message when attempting to submit a claim in the OneTouch desktop app or your integrated EHR. You will need to reset your password before you will be able to submit claims successfully.
After updating your password in the Apex website, be sure to Reset Your Apex Password in the OneTouch app to prevent errors when submitting claims.
Integrated practice management software also require you to update your Apex password in their software. If you send claims directly from within your software, please contact Apex support or your software provider if you need assistance updating the Apex password within the program.
IMPORTANT: Never reuse old passwords, use the same passwords on different accounts or platforms, or share your password with anyone. An employee of Apex will never ask you to share your password with them.
Reset an Expired Apex Password
- Log into the Apex website. If your password is expired, you will be prompted to reset it.
- Enter your Current Password.
- Enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields.
NOTE: Your password must be at least eight characters long and must contain at least one of each of the following types of characters: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, digit (0-9), and special character. Passwords that do not contain English words are stronger.
- Click the Submit button.
NOTE: Your username has not been changed. The "ZZZ#" prefix represents your client ID and a "#" symbol is used as a divider between your ID and your username. If you use your email as a username for more than one account, you will need to add the prefix "[client ID]#" to your username to ensure the password is reset for the correct account. This is the case as shown in the screenshot above. The user name has the "ZZZ#" prefix to indicate the password is being reset for the username under the client ID of ZZZ. Otherwise you should just use your username or email address depending on what you had been using before.
- A pop-up message indicates that the password was successfully changed.
- Return to the Apex website and log in using your Username and updated Password.
