While Apex EDI is able to send secondary claims, Crossover Claims are completely different.
- These are claims that are forwarded to the secondary insurance directly from the primary insurance, instead of having to send the claims through Apex.
How do I set up Crossover Claims?
Contact the primary insurance company and see if they offer Crossover Claim services. The most notable insurance company that offers this is Medicare, though others might as well. Apex EDI does not have the ability to set this up for you, as this is a payer only service.
What if the Insurance Doesn't Offer Crossover Claims?
You can always send a secondary claim through the Apex system!
