There are 2 versions of Apex Connex currently available: V1 and V3. Each will have a separate process on how to send claims and statements depending on which you need.
- First, create the claim/statement in your Practice Management Software.
- Then, print the claim to an Apex printer, by selecting the printer that begins with ApexConnex.
- This will send the files to Connex for Apex OneTouch to pull from.
- Please note that this shouldn't physically print any claims or statements. If that happens, you might not be selecting the correct printer.
Connex V1
This is the version where the symbol is located in the Hidden Icons tab on the computer, generally located on the bottom right.
- Once the chevron is clicked, you will see the Apex symbol among the other icons.
- Hover over this symbol and Right-click. This will open up a menu with a few options listed.
- To send files, select which file type you want to send. i.e. Claims or Statements.
- Select the Claim option If you are sending claims.
- Select the Statements option if you are sending statements.
- Select the correct option, then send the files by clicking the Submit eClaims or Submit eStatements button on your OneTouch application.
Connex V3
Connex V2 will only work if the computer's .net Framework is version 2.0.50727. Since it does cost to update the .net Framework, using Connect V3 is the free workaround to this issue.
- When your file is ready to be sent, select one of the 2 files shortcuts related to Connex V3. One of the files is for Claims and the other is for Statements. They will look like this on the computer.
- Double-click the appropriate icon for the file type BEFORE printing your claims to ApexConnex. This will ensure that the file will be saved correctly, as either a claim file or a statement file.
- If unsure which is the correct icon, you will need to look at the full icon name.
- For claims, select the icon that says "ConnexV3_RegistryKey_CLAIMS.reg".
- For statements, select the icon "ConnexV3_RegistryKey_STATEMENTS.reg".
- If unsure which is the correct icon, you will need to look at the full icon name.
- After the claims/statements have been printed to the ApexConnex Printer:
- Open your OneTouch application and click Submit eClaims or Submit eStatements, depending on which file type you want to send.
- Open your OneTouch application and click Submit eClaims or Submit eStatements, depending on which file type you want to send.
